President Bush has named Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court - pending confirmation, of course.

She's never been a judge - in your opinion is that an issue?

Nice polling feature...I had wondered how it worked.

As a discussion point, Do you know that 40% of the people who have served on the SC weren't judges?

I wasn't aware of that - but it fits well with my opinion that being a judge before is not essential to being a good Supreme Court Justice.

It concerns me only in that we have no idea what Miers might do on the bench as she has no track record.

Yeah, it concerns US....It doesn't seem to bother the POTUS, and that gives me great peace. The dude doesn't like hanging with libs, and he has hung with her for a long time.

Just because she's not a lib doesn't make her automatically a good choice for the Supreme Court. And, obviously, I don't share your blind faith in our President and his judgement.

I'd feel more comfortable with more information about her and a track record to look at. Not having that information doesn't preclude her, but it doesn't help me feel good about her as a candidate.
