Top Chef

One of the only other "reality" TV shows I watch (along with The Biggest Loser) Top Chef is a cooking competition featuring 16 chefs from across the world who, this season, have come to New York to compete for the title of "Top Chef". The contestants are vying for $100,000 and a featured spot in "Food and Wine Magazine" along with an assortment of other prizes. Not to mention, of course, the exposure of showcasing yourself on a national TV show for up to 16 weeks.
Top Chef airs every Wednesday night at 10PM (9 Central) on Bravo and is repeated throughout the week at various times on Bravo.
The Hosts
The two main hosts of the show are Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio.
Tom is an accomplished chef, author and owner of Craft a restaurant in New York. (Note: I'll put up a link to the official "Craft" homepage when I can, at the moment the site is down)
The lovely Padma was the first Indian supermodel (despite the rather nasty scar on her right arm) who brings not just beauty but brains to the show too -- she is also a successful author of at least one book on cooking.
Tom has a great book too - called "Think Like a Chef" which is in my own collection and I've enjoyed reading.
